I am a London-based multidisciplinary artist with a Central Asian background, working across painting, sculpture, performance, sound and writing, where the choice of medium is guided by the resonance with the concept.
Intertwining discourse around social, cultural, psychological, philosophical and metaphysical concepts, I am exploring contemporary issues through a prism of ancient knowledge, seeking to uncover timeless truths.
I communicate my ideas by leveraging abstraction, symbolism and metaphors – these tools allow me to stimulate the process of free associations to unlock the hidden and repressed thoughts or feelings.
Ethereal and surrealistic visuals serve as a playground for the viewers’ subconsciousness obliterating the boundaries between fantasy and reality. I often combine visuals with my written reflection to extend my exploration of the concepts and provide an additional dimension to the viewer’s experience.
I am aiming to create an emotional resonance and provide a space for contemplation and introspection. In the current age of information overload and external distractions, it seems vital to me to emphasise the importance of one’s internal landscape and encourage the viewer to turn inwards.
It is impossible to find oneself externally – all the answers we seek are already within us.
In essence, my art is a testament to the interconnectedness of all human experiences and the profound wisdom that resides within.
