metamorphōsis II | 2023

This art project unfolds a narrative of transformation through the lens of tarot archetypes.

Each selected card in this visual representation becomes a vessel of thoughtful symbolism and reveals its own story, collectively forming an allegory of metamorphosis. The utilisation of these archetypal symbols serves as a potent storytelling device, allowing to encapsulate a comprehensive narrative within a single frame. The history of tarot extends across cultures from East to West emphasising an ultimate concurrence and unity of nations and cultures through this divination tool.

In addition, people often may find tarot predictions comforting during the times of uncertainty and it can create a certain illusion of control, which adds another level to this visual metaphor. This year turned out to be quite chaotic and brought a lot of changes to ourselves and many people around us, so this project is a way to bring the viewers a sense of comfort during the turbulent times, offering reassurance that every transition consequently leads to a new beginning.
